Message from the Chair
Thank you to everyone that supported the Confederation last year by attending one of our monthly business networking events.
These events had speakers presenting on a range of topics from Psychosocial Risk Management, Consumer Trends, Tasmanian Startups, and Sound HR Practices.
Our events are a chance to connect with people in the Greater Hobart area, discuss local issues, share advice, and offer support.
Events are open to members and non-members and will start up again in February. Details to follow at cghb.org.au/events.

Push for Outdoor Live Music in Salamanca
Confederation chair Edwin Johnstone supports the calls for a trial of live outdoor music on Sundays between 12pm and 8pm on Salamanca Place saying Salamanca Market has traditionally had live music, “so I see this move as long overdue”.
“Salamanca is Hobart’s premier entertainment precinct, and we should always be looking at ways to enhance the experience,” he said.
“The arts are a very important part of Hobart’s culture fabric, but live music is one area that needs encouragement”.
“With Dark MOFO taking a pause this year, now is the perfect time to come up with new ideas to enhance the visitor experience not just in Salamanca but greater Hobart as a whole.”
