Salamanca Market Stallholders Charged Unnecessary Stamp Duty

For the last 15 years, Salamanca Market stallholders have been incorrectly charged stamp duty by the State Government

Historically purchasers of a stallholder’s licence were required to pay stamp duty, but a rule change 15 years ago meant this was no longer required.

Despite this change, stamp duty for market licences has continued to be collected.

Anyone who purchased a stall license since 1st July 2008 should contact the State Revenue Office to see if they are owed a refund.
