Confederation chair Edwin Johnstone supports the call from Ald Marti Zucco for a trial of live outdoor music on Sundays between midday and 8pm on Salamanca Place saying Salamanca Market has traditionally had live music, “so I see this move as long overdue”.
“Salamanca is Hobart’s premier entertainment precinct, and we should always be looking at ways to enhance the experience,” he said.
“The arts are a very important part of Hobart’s culture fabric, but live music is one area that needs encouragement”.
“With Dark MOFO taking a pause this year, now is the perfect time to come up with new ideas to enhance the visitor experience not just in Salamanca but greater Hobart as a whole.”
